What we fix on Fisher & Paykel dishwashers.

/01

Will not fill (A1 / U1 code)

The DishDrawer™ cannot draw in water and shows A1 (newest-gen) or U1 (mid-gen). A closed tap, low water pressure (below ~0.03 MPa), a kinked inlet hose, or a clogged inlet filter are checked; the fill valve is tested if the supply is confirmed normal.

/02

Will not drain (A3 code or blocked drain)

The DishDrawer™ cannot pump out water and shows A3, or a drain hose is kinked or blocked. The SmartDrive™ direct-drive pump rotor, the drain hose path, and any blockage in the drawer are cleared before any part is replaced.

/03

Excess foam / auto-recovery (A7 code)

The DishDrawer™ shows A7 — excess foam detected; the auto-recovery program runs to completion. The usual cause is a non-dishwasher-specific detergent or too much detergent; the drawer is allowed to complete the recovery cycle and the correct product recommended.

/04

Flood detected (F1 code)

The DishDrawer™ shows F1, meaning the flood switch has activated — water has entered the chassis base. The drawer is not run again until the source of the leak (a hose connection, sump, or door seal) is identified and repaired.

/05

Motor or temperature fault (F2 / F3 / F4 / F8 / F9 code)

A mid-gen DishDrawer™ displays an F2 (motor stalled), F3 (temp sensor / incoming water too hot), F4 (heating element or temp sensor), F8 (electrical problem), or F9 (electronics malfunction) code. Each named stage is tested by a technician before any board or component is replaced.

/06

Not cleaning or not drying / no spray arm (A6 / U6 code)

The DishDrawer™ shows A6 or U6 — no spray arm detected or water pressure/flow to the arm is insufficient. The spray arm is reattached and confirmed locked; if it continues, the circulation pressure and SmartDrive™ pump are tested.

These are the most common issues — not an exhaustive list. Our technicians diagnose and repair any Fisher & Paykel dishwasher problem, including intermittent faults, unusual symptoms, and issues not listed here.

About Fisher & Paykel dishwasher repair

Common Fisher & Paykel dishwasher problems

Reliable fisher paykel dishwasher repair starts with understanding the two dishwasher platforms F&P sells: the iconic DishDrawer™ (single DD24S… or double DD24D…) and the full-size integrated dishwasher (DW24 prefix). Each has its own fault-code scheme. DishDrawer™ codes vary by generation — mid-generation models ending in “9” use F-codes and U-codes (F1 flood, F2 motor, F3 temperature, U1 fill, U4 opposite-drawer, U6 spray arm), the newest generation ending in “5”, “6”, or “7” uses A-codes (A1 fill, A3 drain, A6 spray arm, A7 foam/auto-recovery), and older “classic” DishDrawers use E-codes via flashing lights. The full-size DW24 platform (such as the DW24U6I1) uses a separate code family including A60 (water temperature/heating fault) and F40 (water-flow error) — these are DW codes, never DishDrawer codes. The DishDrawer™ is unique in that its SmartDrive™ brushless direct-drive motor serves as both the wash pump and the drain pump, so a motor fault affects both functions.

Our Fisher & Paykel dishwasher repair process

As an independent, third-party service we begin every repair by confirming the exact model — a DD24SAX9N single DishDrawer™, a DD24DAX9N double, or a DW24U6I1 full-size — then identify the code generation before testing. On DishDrawer™ A-codes we check the fill valve and supply pressure on A1, clear the SmartDrive™ pump and drain hose on A3, reattach or test the spray arm on A6, allow the auto-recovery cycle to complete on A7, and check the flood switch and drain on F1. On the DW24 platform, A60 and F40 point to the heating and inlet systems respectively. We fit Fisher & Paykel-specific parts from trusted parts suppliers, and every visit is backed by a 30-day labor warranty on the workmanship. Most repairs are completed in one visit, and you can book a dishwasher repair online at any time. The total cost depends on the diagnosis — we never quote a fixed price sight unseen.

Fisher & Paykel dishwasher models we service

We service the full US Fisher & Paykel dishwasher lineup. DishDrawer™ double models include the DD24DAX9N (full-console), the DD24DI9N (integrated panel-ready), and the DD24DDFTB9N (integrated, black stainless); single-drawer models include the DD24SAX9N (full-console), the DD24SI9N (integrated), and the DD24STX6I1 (integrated Smart DishDrawer™). The full-size integrated dishwasher is the DW24U6I1 (24″, sanitize). We also service older classic DishDrawer™ generations (DD603, DD605, DD24DI, DD24SC era) that use the flashing-light E-code scheme. Our model directory lists the SmartDrive™ pump-motors, inlet valves, spray arms, flood switches, temperature sensors, and door seals matched to each build so the correct part is sourced the first time.

Error codes and diagnostics

Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer™ codes span three generations, so it is critical to match the code to your drawer generation. Newest-gen (models ending 5/6/7): A1 fill issue, A3 drain fault, A6 spray arm/flow, A7 excess foam auto-recovery (normal/DIY), A09 sanitize temp not reached. Mid-gen (ending in 9): F1 flood, F2 motor, F3 temperature sensor, F4 heater/sensor, F5/F6/F7 lid faults, F8 electrical, F9 electronics; U1 fill, U2 loading error, U4 opposite-drawer fault, U6 spray arm. Older classic (flashing lights): E1 door not closed, E2 temp sensor, E3 drain hose too low/water level, E4 drain hose blocked/too high, E5 supply hose crimped/tap off, E6 flood switch. Full-size DW dishwasher codes: A60 heating/temperature fault, F40 water-flow error — these two codes are DW-only, never DishDrawer. For full code guidance see our dishwasher error-code guides.
